G-Wood Rally...

Ok so you see on Monday night after practice we got this letter from the pittbull coaches saying we were to bring our cheerleaders and football players to a Pittbull Rally on Tuseday October 12, 2010 @ 6:30 and that there would be a guest speaker named Steve Fitzhugh. So me not knowing who this Steve guy was I did a little researching and this is what I found. Steve Fitzhug(born January 28, 1963 in Akron, Ohio) is a former professional American football player with the Denver Broncos. He began as a track and field all-star, becoming one of the top five sprinters in the country. Steve attended Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. There he was a highly-touted football player and track star. He was highly recruited and selected Miami University on a full athletic scholarship to play football. There he was the captain of the football and track teams his senior year. Known as an "intimidating hitter", he was recruited by the NFL. He signed with the Denver Broncos in 1986. He was sidelined by a shoulder injury after two short years in the league. He is now an author, humorist and motivational speaker spending much of his time as a professional communicator, with teenagers about drugs, alcohol, and right choices. He travels around the nation and abroad as a guest speaker for a variety of venues including but not limited to, schools, colleges professional athletic teams, corporations, and penal institutions. Steve Fitzhugh partnered with Ricky Bolden and Lon Solomon in co-founding The House, DC, three former crack houses transformed into an after school youth center which services the under served population of Anacostia, Southeast Washington, DC. Fitzhugh is also the national spokesperson for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes 'OneWay2Play-Drug Free' program.

I think our cheerleaders and football players enjoyed listening to Steve he was great with the kids. He even signed things for them after it was over. Skylar and a few of her cheer friends didn't have anything for them to sign so they took off there shoe and had them sign it you should have seen his face priceless ha..He said girls I hope your feet don't stink like the boys shoes would. He was such a nice guy to have signed there shoes. I have a few pictures of Steve at the Rally that was held at the Greenwood Boys and Girls Club.
