When It Rains It Pours

Flash Floods in Northern parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma Force Evacuations- Closed Many Roads. Oklahoma flooding leaves hundreds stranded after horrific flooding in Arkansas left 19 dead, Oklahoma City residents were victimized to a buildup of rain and thunderstorms resulting in flash floods. Oklahoma flooding leaves countless in need of rescue as well.

I have a friend who lives in OK City so I called to check on her and her family and she said that According to the National Weather Service approximately 10 inches of rain fell in Oklahoma city between 2:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., Central time Monday morning. The waters shut off power leaving nearly 4,000 people without electricity and struggling to get out of the rising waters.

The waters shut down two interstates: Interstate 35 and Northeast 50Th Street while other Interstates saw flood waters rise. She also said that many people are stranded in their homes and have contacted the Oklahoma City Fire Department for help and rescue. Neighborhoods, streets, homes and businesses are flooded leaving many needing rescue.


I also have another friend who lives in Sequoyah County Sallisaw, Oklahoma and they had a big mess in her little town as well. The middle school was flooded and they didn't have school Thursday. Here are a few pictures from the floods in our area.
