All About Flat Stanley
Skylar's class just finished reading the book Flat Stanley. If you've never read it,this is what Skylar told us about Flat Stanley it is when a bulletin board falls on Stanley while he is sleeping and flattens Stanley he is not hurt and before long Stanley discovers some real advantages to being flat. He can slide under doors, go down into sidewalk grates, and even fold himself up small enough to fit into an envelope and be mailed to another city far away for an exciting vacation. When the kids in Skylar's 2ND grade class finish the book they color their own Flat Stanley and send him to someone for an adventure. Skylar new just who she wanted to mail Flat Stanley to her Great Aunt Mary. The individual that receives a “FLAT STANLEY” which is Aunt Mary will also complete a questionnaire that advises what FLAT STANLEY saw or did in that faraway city, what the climate is like, the distance between that city and ours, and some interesting facts about that city. Then, that lucky individual sends those facts back to the original student with the newly dressed FLAT STANLEY! I asked my husband if he did anything like that when he was in the 2ND grade and he said no I do not remember getting to do half the things kids these days get to do.
