NCA/NDA ALL~STAR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

This past weekend we went to Dallas Texas for the "Super Bowl" of Cheerleading. What a weekend! Every year the NCA All-Star Nationals gets bigger and bigger. This year was no exception. Over 750 teams took a stage in one of the 4 halls or arena to compete and see who was the worlds best. The best an ACU team has ever finished was 5th place, and this year our Junior 2 team (Skylar's team) set a new mark by placing 4th. Their performance on both days were excellent. Someone said that maybe they were too young to know any better, but the pressure of the big lights and huge crowds didn't seem to bother them. Both performances were high energy packed routines that were as solid as you could ask for in a two day span. The teams in front of them were very good, but that is what you expect to get at NCA. To finish 4th is a great achievement! I mean, if ACU has been going for 8 years, and the best was 5th up until now, you can say that the Junior 2 team is the best ACU has had to offer in the NCA environment. That is amazing for sure.


The seniors didn't have as much luck with their divisions. The teams were loaded from top to bottom and it showed with the senior 3 team placing 7th and the senior 4 team placing 6th. Again, when you compete against the best the world has to offer, you just do what you do, and be happy you had the spunk to put it all out there. Of all the gyms in Arkansas there were only three that had that spunk, and ACU was one of them. So from this forum, I want to issue a challenge to every gym in the state of Arkansas. If you want to be considered a top gym, then get you butts to Dallas for NCA All-Star Nationals 2012, and put it on the line. Lets see who is the best, when the pressure is really on!!!

What a weekend! Congrats to all the ACU teams on a great NCA showing. Junior 2 sets a ACU new record by finishing 4th at NCA. We do it all over again next weekend in Little Rock
